The 6th or Ajna chakra is also called the spiritual, or third eye. Its color is indigo or shades of purple. This chakra is polarized into a negative pole at the base of the skull (medulla oblongata) and a positive pole at the point between the eyebrows. The negative pole is the metaphysical seat of the human ego; the positive pole represents enlightenment from that form. The flower essences that can empower this chakra are:
Avocado Essence for good memory, in helping us to remember, ultimately, who we truly are, freed from the hypnosis of all weakness and self-doubt; and to remove the mental blocks people raise against unwanted experiences.
Corn Essence for mental vitality; for reaching a crossroads in your life, for new beginnings, and for moving forward without looking back; to overcome sluggishness, laziness, and procrastination
Pear Essence, our classic flower essence for inner peace once we accept rather than resist the many trials that life brings us; to release agitation and to see the silent gifts within our difficulties.

Affirmation: Mentally affirm
I awake in Thy Light, I awake in Thy Light, I am joyful, I am free, I awake in Thy Light!
Spiritual Eye Meditation:
Concentrate at the point between the eyebrows. Visualize there a tunnel of golden light. Mentally enter that tunnel, and feel yourself surrounded by a glorious sense of happiness and freedom. As you move through the tunnel, feel yourself bathed by the light until all worldly thoughts disappear.
After soaring through the tunnel as long as you feel to do so, visualize before you a curtain of deep violet-blue light. Pass through that curtain into another tunnel of deep, violet-blue light. Feel the light surrounding you. Slowly, the tunnel walls disappear in blue light. Expand your consciousness into that light into infinite freedom and bliss. Now there is no tunnel. There is only the all-encompassing blueness and bliss of infinity.
At last, visualize before you a silvery-white, five-pointed star of light. Surrender every thought, every feeling into this star of absolute, ever-existing bliss.
Chakra Challenge Journaling for the 6th Chakra’s Super-Ether Element:
1. The sixth chakra is split into positive and negative manifestations, with the ego in the medulla oblongata and the spiritual eye at the frontal part of the brain or the point between the eyebrows. Exactly what do I understand my ego to be? Do I feel that my ego is a good or a bad thing? Elaborate on this point.
2. The highest chakras govern the functions of the brain and the senses. How do I feel about each one of my five senses – seeing, hearing, tasting, smelling, touching? How successful am I in turning off the “five sense telephones” during meditation?
3. Why do I experience myself or my “being-ness” more in my head than in anywhere else in my body? How can I be more “present” in the rest of my body, and why is this a good idea?
4. Now set aside all thoughts of what you have read or heard about these chakras. Close your eyes and meditate on the 6th chakra for at least 5 minutes. What does it look like to you – shapes, colors, forms, symbols? What does it smell like, taste like, sound like, feel like? Draw a picture or make a simple abstract diagram of what you saw or felt in your meditation. Write a poem or a few lines of verse or prose to go with this chakra. What music or chant do you know which would give the feeling of this chakra, either your own musical composition or someone else’s?
